STI stands for Sexually Transmitted Infection (Sometimes called a Sexually Transmitted Disease or STD). You can catch a STI from having close contact with someone who is infected. This can be anything from simply touching infected areas, oral sex or intercourse. Herpes & HPV for example can simply be caught by touching the infected areas.

There are many different types of STIs each with its own symptoms and treatments ... although some STIs have no symptoms and some have no treatments!
